Almost everything for me is the same I did'nt really change except for the fact that I am now a master sociologist. I have learned all there is to know about sociology I am a master at sociology and am a mastermind into the mind and can now pick your mind like a lock!

The Minimum Wage Life

I feel that this article was pretty spot on and that this world couldn’t go around without those people but if we had less people that made billions companies could afford to move the minimum wage up to $15. This only accounts for large companies because there not many if any that make a million dollars so there isn’t room for someone in that position to make much or the $15 mark. I believe that it’s a good concept and it shows how these people that make $10 and hour or less cannot afford to miss a month or work let alone a week of work. People working minimum wage jobs maybe are satisfied with working the job they have or are comfortable with that job.  Working a minimum wage job requires you to live on a paycheck to paycheck living expense and that is not fun for people to say the least it is scary. Not knowing where that next meal or knowing where the money for your child’s school clothes are going to come from is scary. People say money means nothing and I would like to say the same thing but I can’t because without money you have nothing. Money means everything in the world today, yes you can go without a cell phone, and cable, or even a car but you need those things sometimes especially in rural South Dakota where you have to travel at least 17 miles for groceries. Not only do we need these people to fulfil these jobs but we need the doctors and lawyers and without all of these people society would not properly function! The only thing that upsets me is the fact that when a rich doctor, lawyer, or business person goes into a gas station or a restaurant and treats the person getting paid minimum wage like they are nothing. If a person is working for minimum wage that shouldn’t make them get treated on a different level then a doctor they are both still people. People are people some people just have more money than other people.

Catfishing

I feel that these people in life are some of the people that can't find anyone and these people that aren't real make these people happy by just being able to talk to someone. By being able to talk to someone if I could save somebodies life but what if they find out that these people aren't really who they say they are. Some people need that person to talk to I don't but some people do. It may cause someone to be happy and this may even lead them to like this person for the feeling they have for each other, the looks aren't everything some people on the show Catfish have gone out with each other even after seeing that this person isn't the same.

Jews and Koreans

The Jews played a lot of basketball because they were poor and didn't really have anything else to do. I believe that a lot of them played for fun and ended up being good and trying to get and education out of it. The Jews were probably some of the better players because African Americans were not allowed to play in the league.


I think that the sports writer was probably not thinking when he posted this and I don't think that he should of said that there aren't hardly any good Korean basketball players. He shouldn't of said that because he doesn't know Koreans and probably didn't search any Korean basketball players so therefore he was being racist.

Border Patrol

I think that isn't a lifestyle that should be lived and I wouldn't want to do that so I don't think most Americans would want to do that. Many people don't want to do those jobs but yet they claim to be mad about these Mexicans that take jobs but no one else would do these jobs. These people are actually helping our economy by keeping prices of goods down and they spend this money in the United States so they are benefiting these country in multiple ways. These people make huge sacrifices just to make enough money to keep their family fed and keep a roof over their heads. These people have no luxuries all they do is work to pretty much stay alive. These people benefit our country and everyone is mad at them for working for less wages but no one else would work for the wages they get. Mr.Reints thinks he's a beast but one day we will put a sneak on him and he will never know and we will drop him, pop him, and mop him. We will never accept defeat to Mr.Reints because he doesn't have what it takes to defeat us then every time we see him we will laugh.

Animal Farm

The pigs are the bourgeoisies' and all the other animals are the proletariats' because the pigs are giving the orders and not working. The pigs are taking control and giving the other animals excuses and saying that they are the "brains" so it is making the other animals think that they are working in all reality they are just eating the food that the other animals process. In the beginning the bourgeoisies' were the farmers and the workers because they were controlling the animals and using them to farm the land and using them for their meat. The animals got tired of the farmers controlling them so they retaliated and then the pigs started controlling them. The pigs not only took control and didn't do anything but they started changing the rules as they went and soon they were even walking on two legs, reading human magazines, and even talking on the telephone. The animals had a commandment that said all animals are treated equal and the pigs added but some are treated better. The pigs did nothing but benefitted from doing nothing, they wanted to change but then greed got the best of them.


The conflict theory had to with pretty much conflict like disagreements that could eventually lead to war. The first reason why they wanted to get out of the control of the farmer was because of being controlled and after that they pretty much went to war with the farmer protecting their rights as animals but that all ended when the pigs became the bourgeoisie.


The functionalist theory pretty much is the ability to function and that is doing so without conflict but right away the pigs were functioning well then they decided they could get more power and more power so they kept taking all the power they could get. They took the milk for themselves then the apples and even the farmers house with they said no one should ever use. The pigs were so scared of getting over thrown they even got dogs to protect them.


The animals did not reach a healthy balance because a lot of animals were doing most of the work while the pigs sat around and ate food and told the animals what to do. Boxer did most of the work and got the same amount of food as everyone else while he did 5x the work and was 3x as big as everyone I think boxer deserved more food and more time off. I think old major performed well and the pigs should of learned from that but as soon as they got the taste of power they ran with in or sat with it one or the other.

Barcelona Fights

I think that it is a permanent fix for these people for most of them anyways but some of them will still get in trouble. I feel that the owner was not only teaching them boxing but he was teaching them to be respectful people and good people. If it doesn't work out for them they will probably still learn something from it and possibly want to change but you cannot change some people. Some of the kids will most likely go back to the streets because its too hard or just not for them. I think that when they get older they will carry on the legacy not only to their children but to family and friends or troubled kids that they may know of. The kids that didn't finish out with it may regret this when they get older and wish they would have gone through the class. I definitely think that the lessons learned are teaching them to do good things and be respectful toward your community and country and be a good person for your family and for yourself. So even if this helps one person it is worth it because if one person changes that may change others and those people change other people and the other people change more people and it just keeps going so yes it think it was worth it.

Poverty

By looking at the graphs it showed that kids did better when they received lunch. I could just imagine why kid do better when they aren't hungry because they are not worrying about where there next meal is going to come from. The world is a hard place for a lot of unfortunate people, and I wish that people that are very unfortunate just didn't have kids because it puts their kids through such a hard life. People that hadn't grown up poor and they don't understand how hard it is to not eat for days on end. Some countries don't even have enough money to have programs for these kids and families but I don't think that the kids should be punished for being born into a poor family/society it just proves that life is not fair.

Tammy

I believe that you can do whatever you want but it takes money or a lot of hard work! I think that people are given different opportunities so I think that it is just what you do with the opportunities that you are given. Her son wants to be an architect or a lawyer, I believe that people can do whatever they want but I will either take a lot of money which he is poor and can get federal funding but he would of had to put a lot of work in to become either a lawyer or an architect. I think a factor that will hold them back is just living in an area where people just aren't successful and if you aren't successful than you aren't looked at differently. Honestly I don't think they will because they weren't set up for success they don't have that person to tell them they can do it! There were so many people in their community that were (failures) or people that didn't complete high school or college that it doesn't make them look that bad. I think that by succeeding you meet successful people and it is all about knowing one person or another because one day you might need a favor and you remember that person you met and give them a call and they could possibly help you with a job, or help you need.

I believe that social class affects the way you are completely! If you are poor and cannot afford good clothes you get teased if you cannot afford to play sports you will probably get teased. But some people do very well in high school and it transfers through

to college and to their job. I think that moving down would be hard for someone that was rich because they are used to having nice things and used to going out but when you don't have a lot of money you have to save money just to get by. People in different classes act way different! If you were someone that was poor and became rich you would most likely be humble about it and act the same because that's the way you grew up but you might not act preppy or classy enough to hang with the rich kids. It would cause a lot of problem with your family and friends because if you were rich your poor friends would probably treat you different because now your rich and they think that would change you. I also think that people that were rich might not accept you because you were once poor. I would end up with the kids that play sports or the working kids either one.

  

My family owns nothing that shows social class because we are poor! I think that people are treated differently because of the things they have such as: a house, a car, and a job you get treated differently because of everything. Adults teach there children to treat everyone as you want to be treated but treat someone horrible because they are rich or poor. I don't really think that your taste in bread affects your social class because there is no price difference between white and wheat bread one is just healthier. I prefer white bread but haven't really given wheat bread a chance.









functionalist

I feel that the funcionalist theory is about spot on everyone needs to fill a certain position even it is flipping burgers. If there was no one to flip burgers than there would be no restraunts so there will always be people that need to fill this not so desired jobs. It is also very questionable why someone fighting for freedom gets made like scum compared to professional athlete. There are just certain jobs that people need to do to make this world go round.

Brian movie

This movie was wacked out like someone that would be on heroin so yes this movie was portrayed well! Living the life of a heroin addict and an uppers addict this movie showed the health risks, sexual encounters, and even what people will do to get more of the drug. The girlfriend turned to sex to get her drugs because no one had any heroin and the only way to get it was by giving sex for the drug! Who knows what she may have contracted by using her body like a handkerchief, and some of the things she would of never thought of doing when she was sober it didn’t even pass her mind she just did it like Nike. By having that addiction she would do anything and everything to get more of the drug it didn’t matter what it was. Too bad her work ethic wasn’t like her heroin addiction she would be rich!

The boyfriend ended up having his arm cut off and we didn’t really get to see what happens after that. This made a great point of showing that when you are high and addicted to a drug you don’t care about your body until it is too late! He had his arm cut off because he was shooting up and got and infection that means his arm is less important that heroin and that is messed up! The thing that really gets me going is when he gets out of prison and most likely gets high again he will just look at it as one less place to shoot up. It also showed what he would do just to get drug money, he would steal his mother’s television and sell it to a guy and she would just have to buy it back every time. His mother wouldn’t give him money because she knew it would go for drug money. After figuring out that his mother was on uppers he cared a lot but he hurt her a lot in the past and she said she was finally happy so he didn’t really bother with her. Drugs also make you lie because he will lie to anyone to say you aren’t doing drugs or to get the money to get the drugs.

The mother ended up with weight loss pills that were uppers and didn’t make her have an appetite which is horrible for your body and ended up making her go crazy! She got so messed up from the uppers she had to be fed through a tube and had to be given shock therapy. It wasn’t really her fault that should have blamed on the doctor because he knew that this was going to happen and kept filling her prescriptions. She never had done drugs and she thought that was the effects of the weight loss pills. She tried telling the doctor and he said just fill the prescription so he was just looking to get an extra buck out of her. 

Tyrone was Harrys best friend but because of drugs so you could call them drug buddies they worked together to get heroin and they actually sold heroin and Harry and Marion wanted to open a business but they took one hit and ended up being addicted again. Tyrone was a prime example of how drugs get you in with the wrong people, he was going to meet up with a higher up drug guy and he ended up getting arrested and blood splattered all over his face and probably got the HIV. He also got horrible withdrawals from the heroin while in prison that it made him go cray cray!

Donte' Blog

Everything that you do to make money from is a business so selling drugs is considered a business. But what if it is illegal can you still call doing what you are doing to make money a business? People make their living off of growing poppy plants and I think that there is no way to stop it now! Once something has grown so vigorously they cannot stop it because there is already a large market for that one thing and like in the movie people will do anything to get it.
What can we do to stop the drug trade? Nothing you cannot stop it, you can slow it down but you will never stop the drug trade because of the large market that wants that drug! What can be done? The drug forces can intercept drug trades and try and arrest the higher up people and try and the business down but they will never stop it. There are to many places and to many people that are doing the trading that you will never be able to stop all of it unless you stop it at the source. If the farmers are unable to grow the poppy then that will cut the amount be let out tremendously.

Trash

Heroin is a major deal that is impacting children across the world and they are children people at the age of 14 are dying from heroin overdose. There are people trying to help these kids get away from the drug but once your are on the drug you are hooked for life! Heroin controls your life if you use it and get addicted you will go out of your way to get the drug. Peoples families are ruined from the use of heroin because the user will do anything to get the drug because the drug becomes your life and most people would kill to get the drug.


Most people think that the most users are from the hood and from the projects but in reality a lot of people that live in nice suburbs are actually users of heroin and you would not expect that. By bringing in drugs into suburbs it is actually a lot more successful because these kids have a lot more access to money and in return a lot more access to the drug. People always think that it's the lower class people that are the main users. It just proves that when a drug reaches a new area it can explode no matter the type of people in the area if you are addicted you are addicted no matter who you are.


By having drugs in the world it is actually a way for some people to make their living, knowing that the drug kills people it doesn't bother them. People don't care about other people and that's really sad that this drug can overcome someone so much that they have no care for anyone.

Gaming Blog

The American people have always blamed killing sprees on violent games saying that these people think it's alright to do in a game so it's ok to do it in the real world. Well it says now that violent crimes are not caused because of video games they are actually decreased because of the games. Researchers claimed that kids that played video games were actually less likely to be involved in violence or commit crimes. By being able to rob banks and steal cars online they are less likely to commit those crimes in the real world because there needs for the bad behavior were already met on the game. By being inside also helped kids stay out of trouble because they were not outside looking for things to do. When kids have nothing better to do they will often do something that involves violence or crime to meet there needs to do something instead of being bored.


I think that people always think it is something else than parenting because they do not want to get blamed for the way that they raise their children. People don't want to get blamed for their child being deviant so they blame it on the games they play or the things they learn in school. By blaming someone else it makes the parents feel like it isn't their fault for raising their child wrong. In all reality people blame on their kids behavior on game they play but they bought the game for their kids?


I don't think that the lead thing is totally true but I think that it could have something to do with aggression because those chemicals are being absorbed in your body and those chemicals cannot be healthy for your body. By absorbing those chemicals in your body can cause cancer so it obviously was taken out for a reason. I just think there are something that the government doesn't want us to know so they make up another reason for it
