Social Imagination

I feel that my generation has grew up kind of spoiled and most people take things for granted. I have been raised in this generation so some of this will rub off on me but for the most part I work for everything I have and haven't had any help from anyone. I still take for granted having electricity, running water, and having a stationary place to live. I also spend my money on what I want and sometimes buy stuff I probably don't need but want.

If I grew up in the 1940's I'm sure I would have a greater outlook on life and the little things that help your life be easier. If I grew up without running water and no electricity and I was living with it today I would rarely disrespect it and I would always remember back to the day when I didn't have electricity to remind me of how good I have it. If I grew up in the 1940's I would have probably left on a train to find a job to try and help provide for my family. Instead of spending my money on things I really don't need I would save it and use it for a time when I needed money. So this is a different outlook on your life or a social imagination.
